One of the main attractions in Anna Nagar is the 138 feet (42 m) tall Annanagar Tower, officially known as the Visveswaraya Tower, built for the 1968 World Trade Fair, by B. S. Abdur Rahman. Its main entrance is from the 3rd Main Road. It is popular with morning walkers and joggers, and with families and young people in the evenings to play and relax.
The Nilgiri Mountain Railway is one of the oldest mountain railways in India. Under consideration since 1845, the line was finally opened by the British in 1908. The railway is one of the few in the world that is dependent on steam locomotives. Bangalore Palace, a palace located in the city of Bangalore, India, was built to look like a smaller replica of the Windsor Castle in England. It was built by Rev. Garrett, who was the first Principal of the Central High School in Bangalore, now known as Central College. The construction of the palace was started in the year 1862 and completed in 1944.
The Gateway of India is a monument in Mumbai (formerly Bombay), India. Located on the waterfront in Apollo Bunder area in South Mumbai, the Gateway is a basalt arch 26 meters high. It was a crude jetty used by fisher folks and was later renovated and used as a landing place for British governors and other distinguished personages. In earlier times, the Gateway was the monument that visitors arriving by boat would have first seen in the city of Bombay.
Aliyar Reservoir is a 6.48 km2 (2.5 sq mi) reservoir located near Pollachi town in Coimbatore District, Tamil Nadu, South India. The dam is located in the foothills of Valparai, in the Anamalai Hills of the Western Ghats.[3] It is about 65 kilometers (40 mi) from Coimbatore.
