Another one of our serendipitous finds, as in, we were randomly looking at some pictures of a friend of ours when we come across this picture of a man-made waterfalls in Rock Garden, Chandigarh. We were instantly reminded of the song from the Tamil movie KanavE KalaiyaadhE. The reason this song from run-of-the-mill 90s movie remained in our heart was that it remains one of the few Tamil movies that were shot in Punjab. So, we watched the song again and immediately were able confirm the location.

About the location (from Wiki):
The Rock Garden or Rock Garden of Chandigarh is a Sculpture garden in Chandigarh, India, also known as Nek Chand’s Rock Garden after its founder Nek Chand, a government official who started the garden secretly in his spare time in 1957. Today it is spread over an area of forty-acres, is completely built of industrial & home waste and thrown-away items.

The Rock Garden project was secretly initiated by Nek Chand around 1957. It was discovered by the authorities in 1975, by which time it had grown into a 12-acre complex of interlinked courtyards, each filled with hundreds of pottery-covered concrete sculptures of dancers, musicians, and animals. The authorities took over, and the garden was inaugurated as a public space in 1976. It is presently run by the Rock Garden Society.

Movies shot at this location:
Poosu Manjal from KanavE KalaiyaadhE
