Peradeniya Botanical Garden – Kandy, Sri Lanka

Another one of our serendipitous finds, as in one of those locations that we didn’t intend to find out in the first place at all. We knew that the garden like location used in this song is not definitely from somewhere within Tamil Nadu because if that were the case, this would have been used in umpteen number of movies before. So, that was where we started. Then, read couple of news articles that talked about the parts of the movie being in Kandy, Sri Lanka. A few searches in Google & Flickr later, we found out the exact location (from within the garden) where parts of the song were shot.

Royal Botanical Garden, Peradeniya is located in close proximity to the city of Kandy in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. It is renowned for the collection the variety of Orchids,and has more than 300 varieties of Orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palms trees attach it is the National Herbarium. Total land mass of the botanical garden is 147 acres, 460 Meters above sea level with a 200 day annual rain fall, it is managed by the Division of National Botanic Gardens of the Department of Agriculture.
