Temples have deservedly caught the attention of our location managers and directors for so long. And when the temple happens to be unique in some way such as this one with 1000 pillars, it is bound to be spotted and used a lot more frequently than the others. We first noticed this location in the Mellaga song from the Telugu movie Varsham and then expectedly found the same location in the Tamil remake of the same movie, Mazhai.
About the location (from Wiki):
The Thousand Pillar Temple is a historic Hindu temple located in the city of Hanamakonda, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and Lord Surya. The Thousand Pillar Temple is one of the very old temples of south India built by the Kakatiyans of Chalukyan dynasty.
