This post is the first in what should be a series of posts on locations from the country of Malta. Vinnaithandi Varuvaayaa is the first Indian movie that has been shot in the country of Malta. And Gautham Menon has done his best to showcase all of the popular attractions of the country in the 2 songs that were shot there – Omana PennaE and Hosannah. Originally, we had planned to publish one post highlighting all the locations used in the movie but changed our minds and decided to post one location at a time. The local Maltese government too has been very enthusiastic about the fact that an Indian movie is being shot in their country, as evident from a detailed article (in a government funded publication) on the various locations that were used by Gautham Menon and his crew.

About the location (from Wiki):
The Azure Window is a natural arch in the Maltese island of Gozo featuring a table-like rock over the sea. The Inland Sea, Gozo, and Dwejra Bay, were created millions of years ago when two limestone caves collapsed. This and the nearby Blue Hole and Inland sea are popular scuba diving sites. Dwejra is a tourist village that belongs to the town of St. Lawrence, Gozo, Malta.
