Muizenberg Beach – Cape Town

Those tiny colorful huts stacked together on the beach are sure to have caught anybody eyes, the moment one saw them in the ‘Behka Behka’ song of the Hindi film Ghajini. And we bring that location you here in this post. Though the 6 different looks of Aamir Khan were the highlight of the song, for us, the highlight was obviously these unique, bright multi-colored huts. There is one other building that is predominantly featured in this song and we are in the process of finding that out. Until then, we couldn’t resist posting this sure-to-be-favorite location.
About the location (from Wiki):
Muizenberg is a beach-side suburb of Cape Town, South Africa. It is situated where the shore of the Cape Peninsula curves round to the east on the False Bay coast. It is considered to be the birthplace of surfing in South Africa and it is home to the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences. Historically, the village has several special features, including Het Posthuys (the Post House), Rhodes’ Cottage and the site of the Battle of Muizenberg.
Rhodes’ Cottage is a small house on the seafront that Cecil John Rhodes bought as a holiday cottage and this was where he died in 1902. The house is preserved as a museum dedicated to Rhodes’ life and is open to the public. Het Posthuys is one of the oldest buildings in South Africa, dating to circa 1742. It was built by the Dutch East India Company. The Battle of Muizenberg was a small but significant military affair that began in June 1795 and ended three months later with the (first) British occupation of the Cape.

Thanks Krithiga for the comment. We have added the ‘Enna Idhu’ song to the list! Since Nala Damayanthi was shot mostly in Australia, we were surprised that they went to South Africa to shoot this song!

Exactly my thoughts too. May be there is a beach in Australia with similar looking huts ? Not sure!

Our suspicions turned out to be true. There are indeed such colorful beach houses in Australia (Melbourne) as well. Here is a Flickr image of the same:
