Another new filming location used in a Shankar movie. Even before Shankar wowed us all with his Kuekenhof Tulips in Anniyan, he had caught our eye with an equally beautiful lavender farm used as a backdrop of the Ale Ale song from Boys. So, during our mission to find out all the locations that the Ale Ale song was shot in, we found this one too. The search in fact turned out to be very easy, for we remembered from the days when the movie was under Production that Shankar had gone to Tasmania for shooting a song in the movie. So, a simple google search of Tasmania + lavender farm led us to this lovely location, though it fails to take away our breath as the Kuekenhof location did.

About the location (from here):
The Bridestowe Estate Lavender Farm established in 1922, is the one of the world’s largest single commercial lavender farms, producing the finest quality lavender flowers and lavender oil used traditionally in the perfumery industry. The Bridestowe plantations have made Tasmania famous worldwide for its lavender.

Bridestowe Estate was purchased by Robert and Jennifer Ravens in February 2007. The Ravens family remains committed to maintaining the enduring legacy and quality of product from the Estate. The Bridestowe Lavender Estate has about 40 hectares dedicated to lavender cultivation. This makes us one of the largest, if not the largest pure lavender farm in the world.
