This location, like many, caught our attention the very first time we watched the song which featured it – Konja Neram Konja Neram from Chandramukhi. When we started our ‘mission’ to find out the location, we first stumbled upon the other location that was used in the song – Cappadocia. So, once we found that out, our mission kind of lost steam. But then, when this location was again featured in the song ‘En Anbe’ from the Vishal starrer Sathyam, we tried finding out but couldn’t get anywhere. Now, thanks to our friend Srikanth who mailed in the name of the actual location that we are able to post this location now. Pamukkale is actually the name of the village and it is the terraces that are made of travertine, a sedimentary rock that is predominantly featured in the songs.

About the location (from Wiki):
Pamukkale, meaning “cotton castle” in Turkish, is a natural site in Denizli Province in south-western Turkey. The city contains hot springs and travertines, terraces of carbonate minerals left by the flowing water. It is located in Turkey’s Inner Aegean region, in the River Menderes valley, which has a temperate climate for most of the year. The ancient city of Hierapolis was built on top of the white “castle” which is in total about 2,700 metres (8,860 ft) long, 600 m (1,970 ft) wide and 160 m (525 ft) high. It can be seen from the hills on the opposite side of the valley in the town of Denizli, 20 km away. Pamukkale together with Hierapolis was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988.
