Lawrence School – Lovedale

As we all know, Ooty a.k.a. The Nilgiris for a long time remained one of the popular destinations of our Tamil film directors when it came to scouting for filming locations. Among the popular locations in Ooty was this school, located in Lovedale, a few minutes drive from Ooty. This location is much like the Athirapilly Falls, in that, the number of movies that were shot at this location should be more than at least 20. But we have been able to document only 2 of them so far. We will keep adding movies to this location as and when we come to know of any.
About the location (from Wiki):
The Lawrence School is an educational institution in Lovedale, located near Ootacamund, Tamil Nadu, India and named for its founder, Sir Henry Montgomery Lawrence. The Lawrence School has a sprawling campus of 750 acres. Lovedale, six kilometres from Ootacamund, located at a height of 7200 feet over sea level, slightly lower than the Dodabetta peak (altitude: 8000 feet), the highest peak of the Nilgiris mountain range.

So many hindi flicks were also shot here … Do aur Do Paanch ( Amitabh Bacchan), Hum ( Amitabh Bacchan) etc…. So many Ads Pepsi, Cadbury's etc….. Plz put more details on the site… U may have 2 do some research …..

Hi Vipul, which song on Hum was shot here? Is it this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3JGaxQQQ04? The house that is used in this song looks like the Lawrence School.

hey there is a scene in rhythm movie, the small boy and meena shift to ooty.. and the boy studies in this school. the scene, as in the school is shown, along with an awesome BGM, when the boy runs to meet his PT teacher, to get permission to leave home early and skip TT practice. thats when the school and the children are shown..

You were absolutely right, Bhavadharini. Just watched the final part of the movie in YouTube and confirmed that the Lawrence School is where the scene you describe was shot. Great find and thanks!
