Another location that we can tout as a fruit of our intense scouring efforts. We kind of first found out that some portions of the Ale Ale song (from Boys) were shot in a very popular lavender form in Tasmania, Australia. (A post on that is coming soon) But as well know, there were other locations where most of the song was actually shot. That was where the hunt began and ended with us finding this rather unique location. Though the time-lapse technique used in this song was ridiculed by many, the same cannot be said of the location which does manage to your attention which is the most popular tourist attraction of Tasmania. It is actually what remains of what was once Australia’s largest convict settlement. The historic site also houses the remains of a church built by the convicts, which forms the backdrop for an extended sequence in the song.

About the location:
Port Arthur is a small town and former convict settlement on the Tasman Peninsula, in Tasmania, Australia. It is one of Australia’s most significant heritage areas and the open air museum is officially Tasmania’s top tourist attraction. The site also is the home to the remains of a convict built cathedral. It is located approximately 60 km south east of the state capital, Hobart.
