With Mussoorie being one of the most popular hill stations in India and this falls being the most popular attraction of the place, it is indeed a surprise that this falls has not been featured in any of the movies so far. (Or atleast, that is what we think. So, let us know if this falls has featured in any Indian movie before). The first time our eyes fell on this water falls in the ‘Anal mele Pani thuli’ song of the Gautham Menon directed Vaaranam Aayiram, it took out breath away. We promptly started our search for the exact location and name of the falls. From the news we had read during the making of Vaarnam Aayiram, we knew that Gautham Menon had filmed some portions of the movie at the IMA in Dehra Dun. And sure enough, many other sequences of the Anal Mele song were shot at IMA. But returning back to how we got to find out the name of the falls. We at wherewasitshot.com have been to Mussoorie during our college days. During our trip there, we drove through Dehra Dun. So, we knew that Musoorie & Dehra Dun are located very close to each other. Even other places where the song was shot reminded us of Mussoorie. Taking both these into account, we figured this falls should be somewhere in Mussoorie.

From there, it was just a matter of using Google and Flickr to arrive at the name of the water falls – Kempty falls. The falls looks gorgeous on-screen and a six-pack sporting Surya only makes the shot even more memorable.

About the falls:
The Kempty Waterfalls in Uttaranchal is situated at a distance of fifteen kilometers from Mussoorie. The water of the Kempty Waterfalls in Uttaranchal gushes down from a height of 45 feet. As the torrent of water of the Kempty Waterfalls comes pouring down and flows above the rock-strewn territory, the water splits into five separate streams.
