An airport would seem to be an unusual place to shoot a song in a Tamil movie but that is what precisely Shankar did when he shot a significant portion of the song ‘Kannum Kannum Nokia’ in the movie. The Kuala Lumpur International airport in the Malaysian capital city is where the song, which drew widespread appreciation for the way it was shot and was easily the highlight song sequence of the movie, was shot.

Saran, of Kaadhal Mannan fame, took cue from the master director and shot portions of the song ‘Paadhi Kaadhal’ from the movie Modhi Vilaiyaadu at the same Kuala Lampur international airport. We at wherewasitshot.com have been to this location during one of our transits and until we saw the ‘Kannum Kannum Nokia’ song, we had not expected to see the airport on the silver screen as part of a Tamil movie. So, yes, it did come as a surprise but kudos to Shankar, for showcasing the then brand new airport in all its glory. That man sure has an eye for granduer in even the routine & mundane locations that might just seem as another passing location for we ordinary mortals.
